Sal Biancardi, born in Italy and raised in Newark, NJ! Honestly, I never liked/understood poker. In April 2017, my friend invited me to a local Kontenders Poker game.. Believe me, I wasn’t too excited about it! I had to bring a picture of the poker hands on my phone (in sat on my lap and kept timing out). My wife (Denise) and I met so many awesome people and had lots of fun; my wife and I eventually started playing every week. We eventually started playing EVERYDAY by driving to all the regional Kontenders venues (hundreds of miles a week)!
Almost 1 year later, I was blessed to win a complete Vegas travel package from Bar Poker Open.. Look out Vegas!
My name is Katrina L Hopkins and I LOVE the game of poker. I am a proud mother of two daughters, Kyerah & Brooklyn, and am extra excited about helping raise my adopted grandson Zy’Meir. I am a high school guidance counselor and have worked in the school system for over 17 years. I love working with the youth. I have a bachelor’s and 2 Master’s in Psychology and Counseling.
Although I was born and raised in Atlantic City, I did not actually start playing the game until about 8 years ago when my best friend decided to go to dealer’s school to learn the game. She practiced with me and I’ve not let it go ever since. On top of the game, I love meeting people and have met some who are now lifelong friends even miles away. I am pleased to not only play Kontenders Poker, but carry the game far and wide as a Region Supervisor for others to experience the fun that I have with my poker family.

I’m Roy Hood. I have recently relocated to Houston from Southern New Jersey with my lovely wife Lorna. We are both avid Hold’Em players and are loving H-town!
I have been teaching hold’em to people from all walks of life – old, young, experienced and not. I love teaching people not only how to play but to enjoy the game.
If you do not enjoy yourself at one of my games, you will not enjoy Texas Hold’em.
We plan to make KontendersPoker.com the biggest and best league in the Houston Metro Area.

Supervisor, North Houston
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I am a logistics supervisor for a chemical plant in Pasadena Texas right outside of Houston. I have always been a blue collar worker and did whatever it took to make my Wife and our kids happy and proud of the man I am. I played Texas Holdem Poker for the first time when I was 23 years old with a friend and have been playing ever since. I’ve never been a great player but enjoy the game and the people that I meet and get to become friends with at the various venues. I have done many other recreational activities in my life but have never been as excited as to when I sit down with a set of chips and try my luck and hope to win a game. When I was asked by the Kontenders League to participate in running venues I was over joyed. I love seeing the smiles and compliments from players when I hold games at our various venues. I like having a fun and friendly game with lots of excitement that keeps the players coming back for more!
