Kontenders Poker hosted a charity poker event at The Rockhouse, in Gastonoia, NC, on March 25, to benefit Veterans Entering Transition.
Veterans Entering Transition is a 501(c)3 that helps our Veterans transition into civilian life through various programs to include career counseling and assistance with Veterans Benefits.
The event drew 23 players, and raised over $1100 for this worthy cause!
Barbara Goodwin, who ran the event, writes:
And the winner is John Van Arnam. Here he is with his wife Barbie. Both are new players to my Rock House games and we are glad to have them. John is taking the $365 WSOP seat for Cherokee on the day of his choice. He will wear the T Shirt provided by the VET Charity Organization to the event and we know he will go all the way for a big win! Congratulations John! A big thank you goes out to all my friends who donated some awesome items for the raffle. That was a huge success. We took in $235 in the Raffle and $870 for the main event for a whopping $1105 which will be given to this great cause. Thank you all who took the time and donated generously for this event! We had a blast!
John Van Arnam took first place, with Jeremy Clemons and Jeff Coleman finishing second and third.
Special thanks to The Rockhouse for hosting the event.
